Acquittals in R v Chorlton & Others
The four defendants, represented by Keith Jones, Mark Shanks, William Staunton and Steve Nikolich (all instructed by Messrs Khattak Solicitors), faced allegations of possession and conversion of criminal property involving large sums of cash, high value designer goods and expensive cars.
Following detailed analysis of complex financial evidence, all defendant’s submitted written applications inviting the Court to dismiss the charges with particular reference made to the leading authority of Anwoir  EWCA Crim 1354.
After listening to oral submissions, HHJ Smith sitting at Bolton Crown Court, ruled that there was no case to answer against any of the defendants.
